How Richard provided the webcasts

Richard Jolly from David Wilcox on Vimeo.

One of the great communication successes at 2gether08 has been our ability to webcast main sessions to people interested but unable to be here. That’s down to Richard Jolly, who joined us from Northern Ireland at very short notice, bringing his kit in a few large suitcases. He was able both to use his own cameras and mixers, and also to tie in with the team providing a feed from the main room to monitors elsewhere. Here he explains how that was possible

  1. really good job on the webcasts - at times I was watching both at the same time! So much better than just a single camera too switching between the speakers and then spotting people in the audience!

As somebody who couldn’t make it down this was really appreciated and it did give the feel of watching a TV show rather than a regular webcast

  2. Agreed, well done Richard and thanks, it was great dipping in and out of the different sessions.

  3. Really enjoyed the live feeds. Thank you. Will the recordings be available at some point? I want to see the bits I missed! :-)

  4. Hi Roo - we have recordings, and will figure out how/what we can best make available. Thanks for the appreciation. There was a lot!

  5. Undoubtedly one of the best live streaming of an event I’ve seen. Kudos, Richard.

  6. really enjoyed the streams as I couldn’t get up to the event. Probably the best streaming I’ve ever seen - so good I watched/listened for all day both days. Will miss it!. What am I going to do today . . .

  7. Couldn’t agree more - great job on the feeds. I was really annoyed that I couldn’t stay all the time for both of the days, but I still managed to do the things I needed to do in the office and watch at the same time. Good stuff!
